Terms of Use

Last updated: 20 October 2026

Halfwayish helps people find a fair place to meet between two starting locations. These terms explain the service and how you may use it.

Who operates Halfwayish

The operator and controller is [Tekno-Boy / Halfwayish.uk].
Public contact email: [info@halfwayish.uk]

What the service does

You enter two UK towns, areas or postcodes, choose an activity and receive suggested places with estimated driving times and distances. If a place name has more than one credible match, you can choose the intended location before continuing.

Suggestions are based on Geoapify services and OpenStreetMap information. We compare a limited set of meeting areas and places, using both the longer estimated drive and the difference between your driving times. Results are suggestions among the places checked, rather than a promise that a globally optimal halfway point has been found.

Check your plans before travelling

Travel times use an estimated traffic model, not live traffic. Road closures, congestion, weather, parking, ferries and the exact entrance to a place may change the journey. Check an appropriate navigation service and the destination before setting off.

Names, addresses, websites, opening information and categories can be incomplete or out of date. A result does not guarantee that a place is open, accessible, available, suitable for your needs or willing to accept a booking.

  • Hotels: confirm room prices, facilities and availability directly.
  • Business meet-ups: ask about meeting rooms, seating, privacy and Wi-Fi.
  • Dates, nights out and attractions: check admission, age restrictions, showtimes and bookings.
  • Dog walks: mapped dog access can change. Check local signs, lead requirements, permitted areas, parking and public access. A suggested park or woodland is not a turn-by-turn walking route.

Bookings and third-party links

Halfwayish does not take bookings, collect payments for venues, arrange meetings or send invitations. Any reservation or purchase you make with a venue or another service is subject to that provider’s terms.

Links may open venue websites, OpenStreetMap or Google Maps. We do not control those websites, their content or their services. Their own terms and privacy information apply when you use them.

Using the website

Use the service lawfully and consider the privacy of anyone whose starting place you enter. A town or postcode is normally enough; do not include unnecessary names, contact details or sensitive information.

Do not interfere with the site, attempt to access private systems, bypass search limits, misuse credentials, submit malicious content or use automated requests that disrupt the service. Respect the rights and attribution of Halfwayish and its data suppliers.

Availability and limits

The service depends on mapping providers, data coverage and available request allowances. We may restrict searches, temporarily suspend features or change the service to manage costs, protect security or carry out maintenance. Some activities or locations may have no suitable mapped results.

Responsibility and your rights

We aim to take reasonable care in providing this planning tool. You remain responsible for deciding whether a suggested journey or place meets your requirements and for checking details with the relevant provider.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful, including liability for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence. These terms do not remove any consumer or other statutory rights you may have.

Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains the starting-place information sent to mapping services, temporary search-limit records, third-party links and how to contact us about your information.

Changes and questions

We may revise these terms to reflect changes to the service or applicable requirements. The date above identifies this version. Updated terms apply to use of the service after publication and do not retrospectively remove rights that have already arisen.
